Description
The Juneau International Airport (JNU) is seeking a Deputy Airport Manager to join their energetic team of professionals helping lead airport operations.
Under the administrative direction of the Airport Manager, provides senior-level leadership and operational support in the administration and operation of Juneau International Airport, with primary responsibility for oversight of daily airport operations, maintenance, safety, regulatory compliance, procurement, and coordination of administrative and capital improvement activities.
This position serves a critical role in maintaining continuity of airport leadership and ensuring the effective day-to-day management of a complex public-use airport. Assists in implementing airport policies, operational priorities, and organizational goals; represents the Airport in meetings with staff, tenants, agencies, and the public; and, in the absence of the Airport Manager, assumes the duties and responsibilities of that office.

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION The position is based at Juneau International Airport and generally works Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Work hours may vary to coordinate with project requirements.
Typical Responsibilities You will help lead the daily functioning of Juneau International Airport by coordinating across operations, maintenance, administration, tenants, and outside agencies to keep the airport running safely and effectively. On any given day, you may be troubleshooting operational issues, reviewing procurements and contracts, preparing recommendations for management or the Airport Board, coordinating with FAA or other partners, or helping move capital and administrative initiatives forward. This role requires strong judgment, follow-through, and the ability to shift between immediate operational needs and longer-range organizational priorities.
You will also serve as a key member of airport leadership, helping align staff efforts, resolve issues that cross functional lines, and maintain continuity when conditions change quickly. The position is highly collaborative and public-facing, requiring professionalism, clear communication, and the ability to represent the Airport well with employees, tenants, agencies, elected officials, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's Degree in aviation business administration, accounting, public administration or a closely related field
AND Six (6) years of administrative or management experience, which included responsibility in at least four of the following functions:
1. Budget preparation
2. Airport Security including TSA requirements
3. Fiscal control/Purchasing
4. Contract negotiations and administration
5. Lease preparation, negotiations, and management
6. FAA Orders, Regulations, Policies
7. FAA revenue and compliance policies
8. Airport management
Substitution: Additional experience in accounting, contract administration, airport management may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Employment as a Deputy Airport Manager is contingent upon passing a TSA-required security check per 49 CFR 1542 and 1544 and Airport Security Program. This will require an FBI fingerprint criminal history records check. Continued employment is contingent on ability to maintain a favorable security check.
