POSITION: Controller

REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer

Summary: The Controller is accountable for leading and directing all S4S accounting operations including periodic financial reporting. Establishes and maintains the organization's overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies. Directs all auditing on both domestic and international fronts as well as required filings and reports.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing accounting operations in U.S. and across all international locations including Canada, Europe and Asia
  • Completing the monthly closing within the first 10 days of each month ensuring that every aspect of S4S finances are analyzed, documented and properly interpreted
  • Reviewing monthly inventory entries in NetSuite including Gifts in Kind valuations
  • Producing monthly financial reporting including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, functional expense reports and accounts receivable reports.
  • Reviewing daily cash sheet and bank accounts and conducting active bank reconciliation in NetSuite
  • Ensuring compliance with U.S tax regulations as well as tax regulations in international locations
  • Managing annual audits including international auditing
  • Supervising the Accounting Manager responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable and the Financial Analyst
  • Working with the CFO, update and maintain strong financial policies and internal controls across all operations safeguarding assets and preventing fraud while ensuring consistency in financial processes
  • Working closely with HR, maintain accuracy in payroll processing both in the U.S. and international locations ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations.
  • Working with the CFO to ensure annual budgeting processes occur timely
  • Participating in any special projects requested by the Chief Financial Officer
Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 10+ years of experience in Accounting Management and Audit Management
  • Strong familiarity with the NetSuite ERP accounting platform required
  • Experience with international accounting/auditing a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Exemplary planning and time management skills with ability to manage multiple projects
  • Some travel to headquarters and warehouse locations may be required.
  • Valid driver's license

  • Repetitive Motion: Perform repetitive tasks, such as data entry, for extended periods of time.
  • Work Environment: Be able to work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, and be exposed to varying weather conditions if applicable.
