What You Will Do

  • Be the primary advocate for the customer within Confluent, acting as their technical voice and collaborating with Sales, Product, Services, Support, and Training teams to ensure technical success.

  • Identify and strategize around any technical objections from customers to facilitate smooth adoption.

  • Support customers throughout the technical lifecycle with architecture planning, cluster and security design, and monitoring and automation.

  • Advise customers on advanced topics as they progress along the data streaming maturity curve, helping them with optimizations and performance tuning.

  • Conduct and present periodic reviews to customers, showcasing analysis on technical health and operational performance.

  • Document processes and transfer knowledge effectively to enhance customer and internal team capabilities.

  • Utilize an understanding of customer environments to influence the development of Confluent's product roadmap.

  • Collaborate directly with Technical Support Engineers and Core Engineering to resolve customer issues when necessary.

What You Will Bring

  • Experience in the Military or Federal Industry.

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related quantitative field.

  • Proven success in a technical field role within a product or SaaS company focused on enterprise customers.

  • A passion for solving complex technical challenges and a solid understanding of modern infrastructure and streaming technologies.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of simplifying complex issues for various audiences.

  • The ability to manage multiple customer accounts simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and achieving results.

  • A collaborative approach with outstanding consulting and relationship management skills.

  • Hands-on experience with major cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

  • A solid grasp of cloud networking and security technologies.

  • Practical experience in coding for client solutions in languages such as Java, Python, or Go.

  • Expertise in Java Virtual Machine tuning and troubleshooting.

  • Experience operating Linux, familiar with configuring and troubleshooting various distributions.

  • Experience with automation tools like Kubernetes, Ansible, and Terraform.

  • An eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

What Gives You an Edge

  • A US Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI Clearance.

  • Certification as a Confluent Developer or Administrator.

  • Experience with Apache Flink.

  • Background in helping customers construct distributed systems or streaming solutions involving Apache Kafka and related technologies.
