Overview

GovCIO is seeking a skilled Senior Network Engineer to design and support multiple complex networks across various locations. This remote position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with our existing team to elevate our network performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategies for managing, maintaining, deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting networks for diverse customer environments.
• Assist in planning, executing, and implementing new network solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, and policies as necessary.
• Monitor and optimize system and network performance, ensuring ongoing operational effectiveness and security hardening.
• Recommend enhancements to the enterprise infrastructure and oversee new software/hardware integrations.
• Generate utilization reports using existing tools to identify issues and actionable insights.
• Support the lifecycle management of vendor equipment in the data center, including firmware control and preventive maintenance.
• Demonstrate and implement innovative technologies to upgrade and enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively with the team, showcasing strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 9+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent expertise.
• Required Skills and Experience:
• Must possess a Secret Security Clearance.
• CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
• Certifications in relevant computing environments (MCSE, Server+, CCNA, RedHat, Palo, etc.) must be obtained within 30 days of joining the project.
• At least 3 years of experience in computer science or IT environments.
• 3+ years of experience in designing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining complex networking solutions.
• 3+ years of experience in configuring and maintaining Palo Alto Firewalls.
• 3+ years of experience with network management and troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, etc.
• 5+ years of expertise in configuring Cisco technologies including Nexus, Catalyst switches, ASR, ISR routers, and Firepower.
• 3+ years experience or knowledge in Software Defined Networking.
• 3+ years of experience in creating and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and disaster recovery processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to teamwork.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science.
• 3+ years of experience in automation and scripting using Python, Pearl, TCL, or Ansible.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity patch management and related security compliance frameworks.
• Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning.
• Support Lead or Program Manager experience.

USD $110,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.
