Alaskan Brewing Company is searching for an accounting professional to join the Brew Crew!

Position: Accounting Technician or Accountant

Hours: Full-time, 40 hrs/wk. Overtime may occasionally be required. Scheduled shift must be during business hours with some flexibility.

The Position:

Alaskan Brewing Company is searching for a mid-level accounting professional to join our team as either an Accounting Technician or an Accountant.

This position is a generalist position that will handle the day-to-day responsibilities for either Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable, provide back-up in other areas of accounting, and may assist with general ledger accounting based on experience.

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Using accounting software to:
  1. Enter vendor invoices in a timely manner, including all allowable discounts.
  2. Process product shipments and issue invoices to customers and ensure that receivables are collected promptly.
• Conduct periodic reconciliations of accounts to ensure their accuracy, including reconciliations of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables subsidiary ledgers.
• Communicate with other departments, vendors and customers to ensure accounts stay current and that any issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements, financial reports, audit inquiries, etc. as needed.
• Assist with a variety of other accounting and financial projects as needed.

Skills and knowledge needed to be successful in this position include:

• Solid understanding of bookkeeping concepts and practices.
• Minimum 2 years prior experience working in computerized accounting environment, or equivalent education.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of financial statements.
• Strong computer skills and experience in MS Office products and accounting software.
• Ability to create and maintain effective relationships with brewery personnel and all stakeholders.
• Possess strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
