  • Qualifications:
    A high school diploma or equivalent, or current enrollment in a GED program.
    Must possess an Alaska Level IB or higher fire system work permit and current NICET level II maintenance certification.

  • Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
    Working knowledge of electrical, fire, and building codes at federal, state, and municipal levels.
    Experience with oscilloscopes, multi-meters, signal generators, transistor and tube checkers, and power supplies.
    Commercial building experience including conduit running, schematic reading, and electronic systems installation and maintenance.
    At least four years of recent electronics experience focusing on fire alarm, DDC, and security systems repair and maintenance.
  • Essential Job Functions:
    Troubleshoots and repairs electronic systems.
    Maintains and repairs alarm, security, and electronic systems like NAPCO and Infographics.
    Serves commercial fire alarm systems and related equipment such as pull stations, smoke detectors, heat detectors, fire door closures, and sprinkler flow devices.
    Maintains security systems and components of various brands.
    Works from plans, prints, specifications, and procedures to complete estimates, repairs, and installations.
    Works at heights over 30 feet.
    Prepares reports as needed.
    Uses computer applications proficiently.
    Establishes effective working relationships and works cooperatively within safety procedures.

    Frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking, and hearing.
    Visual acuity and ability to lift items under 40 lbs.
    Ability to understand instructions, recall facts, handle conflict, and make decisions under pressure.
    Ability to manage stress working with diverse individuals in a dynamic environment.

    Potential exposure to outdoor weather and moderate noise levels.

  • Additional Information:
    Employees must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
