Overview: GovCIO is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Analyst to enhance and safeguard network defenses for the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role involves monitoring firewalls and other defense technologies, identifying abnormal behaviors, and reconciling findings from various assessments and scans. Key Responsibilities:

• Apply the NIST Risk Management Framework to bolster federal agency cybersecurity and ensure compliance.
• Develop and submit maintenance security packages through eMASS.
• Evaluate and resubmit controls for validation annually via eMASS, maintaining timely Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) as required.
• Prepare and maintain monthly POA&Ms for each Authority to Operate (ATO) package, detailing the status of monthly vulnerability scans.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for user account provisioning and end-user security controls.

Qualifications:

• Required Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Technology with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience).

• Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Knowledge of the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process, ATO package development, and Risk Management Framework procedures integration.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
• Understanding of firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability/Public Trust.

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is USD $120,000.00 - USD $135,000.00 per year, which may vary based on factors such as market location, skills, experience, and education.
