This includes managing access controls, monitoring threats, responding to incidents, and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of district data. The role involves configuring and maintaining security appliances and software, developing security requirements in collaboration with staff, and creating documentation, reports, and scripts to support system security. The Security Administrator also advises on technology solutions with a strong security focus. A bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information assurance, or acomputer-related field, or four (4) years of practical work experience in a security-related rolemay be substituted for a degree.2. Knowledge of security principles, risk management frameworks, and best practices. Functional andadministrative understanding of security features in Windows, Mac OS, and Linux/Unix operatingsystems, as well as network devices.3. Must work well with end-users to understand security needs, respond to security questions andincidents, and promote a security-conscious culture.4. Must be comfortable with training adults in security awareness and best practices.The following are preferred:1. Four (4) years of practical experience as a security administrator or in a relatedcybersecurity role is strongly preferred.2. Four (4) years of combined scripting/programming experience in languages such as Python,PowerShell, Shell, etc., for security automation and analysis.3. Experience with TCP/IP networking protocols and security implications (ability to analyzenetwork traffic for malicious activity).4. Experience with security tools used in education environments (e.g., content filters, monitoringsoftware).5.
