WORKING HOURS AND LOCATIONThis position is regularly scheduled 04:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. or 08:00 a.m. - 04:00 p.m. on a rotational basis and may be scheduled to work weekends seasonally. This position reports each day to CBJ Streets & Fleet Maintenance facility and7100 Glacier Hwy. In the event of a major weather event such as snow or flooding, employees may be required to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays to ensure the safety of the traveling public.
Typical ResponsibilitiesThis position is primarily assigned to snow and trash removal in the downtown core area, the maintenance and repair of sidewalks and stairways, operating a variety of tools and equipment. Specific work or route assignments are received from the Streets Maintenance Supervisor and work is inspected frequently for completeness and adherence to schedules. This position regularly works outdoors in hot, cold, and/or wet weather conditions. This position requires heavy lifting, physical endurance, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

ANDValid Driver's license
at time of appointment.
Position requirements may include: Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, scheduled and emergency overtime, and be available for required on-call duty; performing work outdoors, year round, in all weather conditions; maintaining physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include heavy lifting, walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time and operating assigned equipment and vehicles; and working under conditions that provide high exposure to the public.
