Under direct/general supervision, the Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for verifying all insurance for all types of patients for which a financial chart is created. This includes communication with insurance via phone/website, follow-up with insurance companies, providing certain types of information and forms as requested to insurance companies and communicating/coordinating requirements and criteria regarding a patients insurance to the billing & clinical departments. The Insurance Verification Specialist receives, verifies and tracks insurance authorizations for in-office care.
