OF POSITION:Provides operational IT Infrastructure services for the Alaska Railroad. The Systems Engineer designs, builds, maintains, and supports infrastructure hardware and software, primarily on server/storage/virtualization-related systems. The Systems Engineer is accountable for all IT Infrastructure services according to established standards and requirements. Duties and Responsibilities:Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Primary responsibility is to ensure safety and continued train movement. Troubleshoots and resolves system outages or degraded services. Produces and maintains drawings, designs, specifications, and configurations required for systems to operate.
