We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our team at a state-of-the-art seawater treatment plant integrated within an oil and gas facility on the North Slope of Alaska.The Commissioning Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the successful startup, testing, and operational handover of the seawater treatment systems, pipeline, gas turbine power generation and chemical treatment processes. This position requires a hands-on professional with expertise in process engineering and a strong safety mindset.What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities): Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning Execution: Lead and execute pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup activities for the seawater treatment plant, including piping, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and control systems.System Testing: Perform functional tests, performance verification, and troubleshooting of seawater treatment equipment such as membrane systems, chemical dosing units, and high-pressure pumps.Collaboration: Work closely with project engineers, vendors, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of the seawater treatment plant with upstream and downstream oil and gas processes.Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols, including OSHA, API, and company-specific standards, ensuring all commissioning activities align with the facility's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning reports, punch lists, and handover documentation for operational readiness. Familiar with CMS (completions management systems).Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues during commissioning, minimizing downtime and ensuring system reliability.Training: Provide training and guidance to operations personnel on the seawater treatment plant's processes and equipment prior to handover.Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.Experience: Minimum of 20 years of experience in commissioning oil and gas facilities with experience in seawater treatment systems within the oil and gas industry.Technical Skills: Knowledge of seawater treatment technologies (e.g., reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, chemical injection).Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, and instrumentation used in water treatment plants.Knowledge of oil and gas facility integration (e.g., water injection systems for enhanced oil recovery).Work Schedule & Conditions: Must be able to work in remote, harsh Arctic conditions with limited access to resources.Schedule: Rotational shift (e.g., 21 days on/21 days off) with 12-hour daily shifts.Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.Udelhoven Oilfield System Services is an equal opportunity employer.
