*Job Summary:*
The Director of Nursing assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the delivery of patient care and all staff activities including direct patient care and quality improvement initiatives. Maximizes resource utilization and achieves organizational objectives through continuous improvement and process evaluation for cost effective care and quality clinical outcomes. Ensures compliance with established organizational, professional and accreditation standards, and state/federal laws and regulations. In programs with coordinators in place, supports those leaders in addressing personnel, patient, and operational issues that escalate. Manages patient care operations. Directs and coaches' staff in personnel and patient care processes.
*Minimum Qualifications for the Job:*
* *Education:* Graduation from accredited Nursing Program with a bachelor's degree.
* *Preferred Education:* Master's degree in Nursing.
* *Experience(s): *Five (5) years of current long-term care nursing experience.
* *Preferred Experience:* Two (2) years of supervisory/management experience.
* *Substitution:* May substitute two years' experience if candidate has an associate degree in nursing.
* *License(s): *Current State of Alaska Registered Nursing License
* *Certification(s): *Basic Life Support (BLS)
*Internal Hires: *Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rules.
*External Hires: *This position starts at an annual salary of $133,244.80. Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based up on relevant experience.

Originally known as St. Ann's Hospital, the hospital opened in 1886 and was operated by the Sisters of St. Ann until the 1960s. In 1965, the hospital's operations were turned over to the City and Borough of Juneau, and a new facility was built at the hospital's present location on Hospital Drive.
Bartlett Regional Hospital is licensed for a total of 57 inpatient beds and 16 residential substance-abuse treatment facility beds in the Rainforest Recovery Center. The hospital serves a 15,000-square-mile region in the northern part of Southeast Alaska. Approximately 55,000 people reside in our service area, with most communities inaccessible by road.
