UAS Facilities Services is looking for a likeable and capable individual to lead our small and talented trades' crew. UAS Facilities Services main goal is to provide the best customer service while enjoying coming to work. Our Facilities staff is comprised of an electrician, a plumber, an HVAC technician, a mechanic, and half a dozen grounds crew and custodians. This strong group is responsible for providing all daily maintenance and some of the renewal/remodel work for about 30 buildings on the Juneau campus.
The Facility Maintenance & Operations Manager position is responsible for managing maintenance staff to provide excellent facility maintenance and operations for the UAS Juneau Campus.
To thrive in this position an individual needs to be resilient, patient, innovative, take counsel from experienced trades staff, find enjoyment in helping others and being an active liaison between our facilities services crew and our campus community of Students, Staff, and Faculty.
Minimum Qualifications:
Combined ten years progressively responsible supervisory and work experience in relevant trade(s), or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
At time of appointment: Valid Alaska drivers license and clean driving record, in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.
Preferred Qualifications: Four years experience in a leadership or management role, or an equal combination of experience and education.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Juneau Campus in Juneau, Alaska, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 81, based on education and experience.
