Position: Member Solutions Clerk

Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time

Location: Wasilla Community Office

Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt

Description:

  1. Responsible for member marketing of the Credit Union and knowledge of all services offered to a degree that will enable answering questions or referring members for specific services.
  2. Maintain familiarity with Credit Union policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws relating to collections.
  3. Responsible for actively communicating with members on overdrawn share accounts, to include working queues and following up on payment promises. Maintain accurate records of all communications by documenting the collection system.
  4. Assist with reversal requests associated with deposit returns, as advised by E-Commerce.
  5. Provide assistance with and accept card payments by phone.
  6. Complete past due and termination notices for death and disability claims.
  7. Assist with payment reversals, corrections, NSFs, and recasts as needed.
  8. Complete data entry for subsequent action forms related to assistance options or repayment agreements.
  9. Assist with transport requests, to include review and recommendations within purview.
  10. Aid in processing incoming levies or garnishments received by the Credit Union.
  11. Assist with completing and gathering documents for legal filings.
  12. Assist members with payment disputes, questions, or complaints. Investigate and resolve discrepancies and follow up with members. Check voicemail for group and note account.
  13. Assist with repossession tasks including but not limited to posting sales proceeds, updating accounts, sending required notices, or filing LP claims.
  14. Process and distribute daily mail, return mail, as well as collection and submission of end-of-day work for the department. Place calls for return mail to obtain new contact information as able.
  15. Identify, assess, and inform supervisor or manager of internal or external issues that require escalation.
  16. Provide back up to other positions, to include assisting Credit Risk Supervisor or Manager.

Position Requirements:

  1. Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  2. Minimum Experience: Two years' experience in dealing with the public, preferably in a financial institution. Collection experience preferred.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficient in use of computer software programs including Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows required. Experience with Symitar's Episys or similar Core processing software preferred.
  4. Personal Characteristics: Must be of the highest integrity, in good health and with personal habits above reproach. Must be a mature person with sound judgment, and practice confidentiality. Must have the ability to meet and work effectively with people of varying levels of education and experience and to be able to communicate, both written and orally with same. Must have high degree of initiative. Must be able to take direction and seek counsel of supervisor as necessary.
