Job Description

The Security Worker is responsible for maintaining the security of people and/or property in assigned area(s). Responsibilities may include but are not limited to, assisting clients, customers, and visitors to and on site, enforcing site regulations, reporting safety hazards, assisting with traffic control, etc. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.

About Denali National Park & Preserve and Doyon/Aramark Joint Venture:

Summer days in Alaska stretch nearly endlessly, with up to 20 hours of daylight on the Summer Solstice. Spanning 6.2 million acres, Denali National Park & Preserve is home to Denali, the highest peak in North America, and attracts over half a million visitors annually. Conveniently accessible by road—4.5 hours from Anchorage and 2 hours from Fairbanks.

Doyon Limited and Aramark have teamed up in a Joint Venture as the Denali National Park & Preserve's Concessionaire. Open May to September, our operation manages the transportation, retail, guest service and food and beverage concessions with our client; The National Park Service. By road, our 100 Blue Bird Bus Fleet takes guests past the 15-mile public access point daily during summer months, allowing people to hike, view wildlife, climb, and camp where few people have set foot.

This is a seasonal role with ideal dates of May to September 2025.

Employees are responsible for knowing the environmental aspects and associated impacts of their job position. Job specific Environmental Aspects and Impacts will be communicated by Dept. Managers during EMS training.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Provides internal/external patrol of buildings and surrounding property
  2. Locks and unlocks doors to permit entry at appropriate times
  3. Checks buildings and work areas when not open for business
  4. Monitors cameras, alarm systems, access control and admits appropriate personnel per authorized staff lists
  5. Conducts ongoing inspections of buildings and grounds to detect safety violations and hazards
  6. Prepares Safety Condition Reports and work orders where appropriate
  7. Responds to all emergency situations
  8. Establishes contact with local Fire/Police officials for assistance
  9. Takes possession of found property
  10. Escorts guests, visitors, and employees
  11. Conducts investigations and inspections
  12. Prepares accurate and complete written reports
  13. Maintains strict confidentiality of security information
  14. Provides non-liable information to guests, visitors, and staff
  15. Control parking and vehicular traffic
  16. Demonstrates professional behavior
  17. Protects property and staff by maintaining safe and secure surroundings
  18. Monitors and controls access at building entrances and admits appropriate personnel and/or guests
  19. Ensures security of company assets

Qualifications

  1. Previous experience as a security officer preferred
  2. This position requires the ability to gather and interpret information and to accurately complete required reporting procedures
  3. Officers should be knowledgeable in search and seizure, constitutional rights, investigative, and interviewing techniques
  4. Officers work independently and under indirect supervision
  5. Officers are required to maintain daily contact with a wide range of people including guests, Fire/Police officials, and employees
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all investigations, incidents, etc.
  7. Must hold proper license based on state/local regulations
  8. Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  9. Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 25 lb
  10. Requires frequent standing, walking, and climbing stairs
  11. Must be able to work - days, nights, overnights, weekends, holidays as required by location
