We're searching for individuals to serve in Housekeeping with our Operation Heal our Patriots project in Port Alsworth, Alaska. Operation Heal Our Patriotsgives wounded veterans and their spouses the opportunity for spiritual refreshment, physical renewal, and marriage enrichment. Couples participate in Biblically-based seminars that help strengthen their relationships with God and others and enjoy the beauty of Gods creation with outdoor activities at our Alaskan wilderness lodge.

A day in the life in Housekeeping:

At Samaritans Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe.

In this role supporting our Housekeeping, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Ability to perform all housekeeping duties with outstanding attention to detail.
  • Cleans buildings, offices, and restrooms by sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, and caring for floors.
  • Cleans furniture, carpets, windows, blinds, doors, jambs, refrigerators, sinks, toilets, light fixtures, counter tops, and windows.
  • Empties sanitary receptacles and r emoves trash from all buildings. Restocks supplies as needed.
  • Reports any maintenance or safety items encountered during the course of scheduled work.
  • Works with other staff in a team environment to coordinate special assignments and complete daily tasks and duties assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor willingly.
  • Cleans offsite areas as directed.
  • Assists with annual spring cleaning of all buildings.
  • Follows planned cleaning schedule set by the Housekeeping Shift Supervisor.
  • Launders all cleaning rags, dust mop heads, and cleaning cloths.
  • Restocks supplies and refills soap and tissue dispensers.
  • Follows policies and procedures of Samaritans Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual .
  • Attends daily devotions and participates in prayer support for the ministry, its donors, and volunteers.
  • Maintains a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public.
  • Other duties may be assigned that are not specifically identified within the content of the job description.

Qualifications & Experience
  • General knowledge of basic cleaning
  • Ability to learn and apply the Samaritans Purse cleaning standards
  • Ability to solve simple problems that may arise during a work day
  • General knowledge of cleaning chemicals
  • General knowledge of housekeeping safety protocols
  • Ability to learn and adapt to change

Type: Temporary Full time First of May through the end of September
