Position Title:
ITINERANT SPEECH THERAPIST
Position Description:
The Itinerant Speech Therapist (ST) performs screenings and evaluations of speech and language skills for children (3-21), provides related services to support the educational programs of students who qualify for special education services to enable them to meet their IEP goals and objectives.
The ST is expected to recommend services, environmental adaptations and /or modifications as well as the staff training needed to manage students' language needs and support their educational programs. Consultation and collaboration with assigned district educational personnel is an essential component of the speech therapist's responsibilities. Extensive travel to school sites throughout Alaska is required, often to remote communities by small plane.
